An editorial-driven, historic volume authored by Black women—documenting Black women as architects of media, culture, leadership, and global influence.

New York, NY — [January 19, 2026]Black Women in Media (BWIM) announced the development of the landmark Black coffee table book, IN OUR IMAGE: An Anthology Celebrating the Brilliance, Resilience, & Legacy of Black Women. This book, scheduled to debut March 2027, is an unprecedented editorial project conceived, curated, and produced by Black women. The mission is to permanently document Black women as cultural authorities, media power brokers, and legacy builders.IN OUR IMAGE, is not created for its scale alone, but for its authorship, intention, and permanence. In a publishing landscape, Black women have often been featured without ownership and celebrated without control. This book reclaims narrative authority—positioning Black women not as moments or trends, but as architects of culture and history.“This book exists because Black women have shaped media, culture, and leadership for generations—yet our stories have too often been fragmented, diluted, or erased,” said Judith Jacques, Founder of Black Women in Media. “This is not a commemorative project. It is an archive. A declaration. A permanent record of Black women as builders of culture, not footnotes within it.”Why This Book Is Historic
